It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, would be conducting a Preceptorship & Hands on Training on Dermoscopy and Trichoscopy on August 30^th and 31^st 2025.

Dermoscopy is a rapidly evolving field. For the dermatologist, ‘Dermatoscope’ is the new ‘stethoscope’ and has found widespread acceptance among students, practitioners and academicians. Apart from its traditional application in melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, Dermoscopy is now being increasingly used in the diagnostics and monitoring of various inflammatory and pigmentary dermatoses and trichology.

With a vision to develop the field of Dermoscopy in an Indian setting and to educate our fraternity on uses and applications of Dermoscopy, Department of Dermatology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, in association with International Dermoscopy Society is organizing this event and we invite you all to participate in this academic feast. Chandigarh, the host city as envisioned by India’s first prime minister, Sh. Jawaharlal Nehru, was planned by the famous French architect Le Corbusier. The city is picturesquely located at the foothills of Shivalik, with many tourist attractions. The weather in March is cool and light woolen clothes are recommended.
